Manichaeism was a world religion that was founded in the 3nd century CE in Persia. Manichaeism soon spread throughout the world, from as westward as Spain to as eastward as China, and from Britain to North Africa. Manichaeism eventually died out in the regions in which it was practiced, however, it left a strong legacy that influenced other religious traditions it cohabitated with.
